Karnataka Temples

Day 01 : Mangalore - Udupi - Murudeshwara – Kollur

visit  Golden Temple and proceed to Temple at Udupi. Then proceed Anegudde Ganapathi temple. Then drive to Murudeshwara. Murudeshwara beach town lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is also famous for the Murudeshwara Temple. The main attraction of this place is world's second - tallest Shiva statue and 20 storied Gopura (237.5 feet) is constructed at the temple. Visit Shiva statue and Lord Murudeshwara Temple, built on the Kanduka Hill which is surrounded on three sides by the waters of the Arabian Sea. Then drive to Kollur. On arrival at Kollur, check in to the hotel and visit to Mookambika Temple at Kollur, a sacred pilgrimage site amongst Indian Places. The panchaloha image of the goddess on Shri Chakra is stated to have been consecrated by Shri Adi Shankaracharya. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 02 : Kollur - Shankaranarayana - Sringeri - Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple

Early morning after breakfast, check out the hotel and proceed to Sringeri. Enroute, visit Shankaranarayana Temple, considered as one of the seven Mukti places created by Lord Parashurama. This is one of the rare temples where we can see the confluence of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu and they are woshipped in form of Lingas. Then enjoy the beautiful scenery of Agumbe Ghat. Sringeri is located on the banks of river Tunga and it is the site of the first mutt established by Adi Shankaracharya. The main attraction of Sringeri is Sri Sharadamba Temple and Vidya Shankara Temple. The Vidyashankara temple is an architectural marvel. After visiting temples at Sringeri, drive to Horanadu. Horanadu is a place of enchanting natural landscape in Chikmagalur district, ancient temple of the goddess Annapoorneshwari here has been restored and renamed the Adhishakthyathmaka Shree Annapoorneshwari. The main deity of Annapoorneshwari is made of gold. It is said that a person who seeks the blessings of Goddess would never have any scarcity for food in life. On arrival at Horanadu, check in to the hotel and evening visit Sri Annapoorneshwari Temple, offer your prayers and have prasadam Dinner at the temple to get the divine blessings of Goddess of Food. Return to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 03 : Horanadu – Dharmasthala - Kukke Subrahmanya – Mangalore

 Drive to Dharmasthala, visit to the Lord Manjunathaswamy Temple, the main attraction of Dharmasthala and have a darshan of Lord Manjunatha (Shiva). Then visit to Rathnagiri (statue of Bhagawan Bahubali or Gommateshwara), Bidinede (Annappa) Betta - (Females are not allowed),

drive to Kukke Subramanya, a popular religious destination which is surrounded by lush green forest along with hills.

Drive to railway station or airport at mangalore
